Panaji: Students from diverse backgrounds got an opportunity to explore practical chemistry when the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), India, and the CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa organised a three-day residential Yusuf Hamied Chemistry Camp for Class IX students at Dona Paula, which culminated on Thursday.

These chemistry camps are being organised as a part of the RSC Yusuf Hamied Inspirational Science Programme hosted by the CSIR-NIO, Goa under the Jigayasa programme and have over 70 students participating from around 35 schools from all over Goa.
RSC has successfully delivered 48 Yusuf Hamied Chemistry Camps in India as part of this initiative since its launch in 2015 across 18 states in India in 11 regional languages to over 2500 students at 1000 and more schools, mostly from underprivileged backgrounds. The program also supports training the teachers and has so far completed teacher training workshops for over 40,000 teachers by recruiting and training new teacher developers to cover most regions of India.
