ISRO YUVIKA Programme: Are you a young student with a passion for space and science? The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is offering a unique opportunity to ignite your curiosity and dreams with its Young Scientist Programme—the YUva VIgyani KAryakram (YUVIKA).
This exciting initiative is designed to impart essential knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science, and Space Applications, providing young minds with a glimpse into the world of space exploration and innovation. Aimed at nurturing future scientists, the programme encourages students to dive into the evolving trends of space science and technology, laying the groundwork for a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
ISRO YUVIKA Programme: How to Get In?
The selection for YUVIKA 2025 is based on various criteria designed to identify students with a passion for science and technology. Here’s how you can qualify:
Academic Performance: Students must have scored well in their Class 8 exams. 50% weightage is given to your marks.
Online Quiz: A 10% weightage is given to your performance in an online quiz.
Science Fair Participation: Participation in school, district, or state-level science fairs in the past three years can earn you 2–10% additional marks.
Olympiad Rankings: Ranking in Olympiads or equivalent competitions (1st to 3rd place in School/District/State/Above) can contribute 2-5%.
Sporting Achievements: Winners in school or district/state-level sports competitions can earn 2-5%.
Scout, Guides, NCC, NSS: Active participation in these organizations in the last three years adds 5%.
Rural Background: Students from village or rural schools located in Panchayat areas can earn up to 15% weightage.

The YUVIKA Programme aims to select students from all over India, ensuring balanced representation from every state and union territory. The programme will be conducted at seven of ISRO’s prestigious centers:
Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram
Satish Dhavan Space Center (SDSC), Sriharikota
U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru
Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad
National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Hyderabad
North-Eastern Space Applications Centre (NE-SAC), Shillong
ISRO YUVIKA Programme: What’s Covered?
The programme is designed to cover everything a student needs for an enriching learning experience. ISRO will bear the cost of all course materials, lodging, and boarding during the programme. Additionally, ISRO will reimburse travel expenses, including II AC train or AC bus fare from the nearest station/bus terminal to the reporting centre, upon submission of original travel tickets.
ISRO YUVIKA Programme: Who Can Apply?
The YUVIKA Programme is open to students who will be in Class 9 as of January 1, 2025, and are currently studying in India.

Interested students can apply online by visiting the official website -jigyasa.iirs.gov.in or through the direct link given below. For the ISRO YUVIKA 2025, the registration opened on February 24, 2025, and will close on March 23, 2025.

The first selection list will be released on April 7, 2025. Selected students will be required to report to their respective ISRO centres on May 18, 2025, or as per the instructions sent to them via their registered email.
The YUVIKA programme will take place from May 19 to May 30, 2025, providing students with a comprehensive learning experience.
